Context and objectives
Bordeaux Métropole sought a medium- and long-term view of the renewal requirements for its tramway network (infrastructure and rolling stock), in order to optimise the process of contracting the concession.
The assignment was carried out in collaboration with GESTE, TRANSAE and TRANSAMO.
Approach and results
The approach comprised five stages:
- Creating an asset inventory
- Modelling asset renewal policies
- Estimating future requirements
- Assessing financial impacts
- Proposing an optimised strategy for the concession
The assessment of maintenance requirements relies on mesoscopic modelling of network infrastructure and on the implementation of the Eqylibr® Scenario® simulation platform.
