Context and objectives
The assignment involves industrialising long-term planning methods for the asset renewal of Infrabel’s network infrastructure.
It also seeks to provide the tools required to produce the technical and financial projections associated with equipment renewal needs.
Approach and results
The assignment rests on three stages:
- assessment of maintenance policies,
- modelling of asset life cycles,
- and scenario modelling of network performance.
The assessment of maintenance requirements relies on mesoscopic modelling of network infrastructure and on the implementation of the Eqylibr® Scenario® simulation platform developed by IMDM.
