Road networksAudit of the non-concession national road network
A first audit, carried out in 2017, highlighted the deterioration of the French non-concession national road network since 2006 and recommended increasing the resources allocated to its maintenance.
In the years that followed, budgets grew significantly, without reaching the levels recommended in 2017.
In this case, the client works with IMDM under the Asset management as a service model.
Context and objectives
Against this background, the 2026 audit sets out to assess:
the impact of the funding trajectories observed over the past 20 years on the condition of the network;
the amounts to be devoted to maintaining the network over the next 20 years, under a range of performance scenarios.
The audit closes with a set of recommendations.
Approach and results
- Development and validation of a method for prioritising investment needs across asset families, by value and by risk.
- Modelling of engineering structures, carriageways and associated equipment in the Eqylibr® environment.
- Creation of national and regional investment scenarios.
- Validation of the scenarios.
- Delivery of the results through the Eqylibr® BI module.
Results
Condition audit and assessment of investment needs over 20 years, covering a road network of more than 11,000 km.
