Context and Objectives

Since the introduction of competitive tendering for public transport in the Île-de-France region, IDFM has acquired ownership of a wide range of industrial assets. The operation and maintenance of these assets are entrusted to third parties under Public Service Concession contracts.

Against this backdrop, IDFM aims to:

  • Effectively structure each Public Service Concession contracts by precisely assessing the condition of each site – and consequently, the investment requirements over the contract term;
  • Develop a long-term strategic asset management plan that consolidates the investment trajectory for all sites over the coming decades.

Approach and Results

The assignment involves the following steps:

  • Verify and process available asset inventory data to establish the current condition of the bus depots;
  • Formalise the asset criticality matrix and define management objectives;
  • Model the bus depots at a mesoscopic scale;
  • Model potential scenarios for the evolution of building conditions based on overall investment trajectories and the public service concession cycle.
