Context and objectives
SEIC sought to define its maintenance requirements for electricity network assets and to implement a CMMS (computerised maintenance management system).
The assignment aims to:
- Develop maintenance processes
- Develop preventive maintenance plans
- Prepare and then manage the tender for a CMMS
- Implement the CMMS
Approach and results
The assignment rests on an analysis of maintenance requirements. That analysis led to the drafting of a specification for the CMMS and the preparation of an international tender. Once the tool had been selected, the work involved importing network equipment and creating maintenance plans by asset category. Field testing was carried out.
