Context and objectives

The installations on SEFA’s distribution network have a substantial service life, but replacing them generates significant investment. It was therefore essential to organise capital expenditure so as to align it with the company’s strategic energy direction.

The assignment had four main strands:

  • Assess the network’s financial trajectory over five to ten years under the chosen strategy
  • Analyse the financial impact on results (cash flow, residual value, depreciation, interest, administrative costs)
  • Examine the influence of equipment ageing on service reliability (SAIDI, SAIFI)
  • Establish sustainable asset management

Approach and results

The project produced three major deliverables:

  • Construction of a model of the infrastructure assets
  • Projection of investment requirements under the scenarios considered
  • Definition of budgetary priorities
