Context and objectives

The energy department of the town of Yverdon-les-Bains (SEY) operates the electricity and gas distribution networks, among others.

Aware of the climate challenges and prompted by the municipal authority, SEY has embarked on a programme to improve its network asset management practices.

Approach and results

Assessment of asset management maturity against ISO 55001.
Development of the strategic asset management plan and of the electricity and gas asset management plans.
Provision of a licence for the Eqylibr® environment, and user training.
Modelling of the network, the assets and the risks in the Eqylibr® environment.
Development and validation of a method for prioritising investment needs by value and by risk.
Creation of investment scenarios and optimisation of the scenario contracted with the municipal authority.

Results

Network model in Eqylibr®.
SEY runs the Eqylibr® modules on its own, under subscription.
An investment master plan and its multi-year budget framework, worth over CHF 20 million over five years, with resources optimally allocated.
ISO 55’001 certification, stage 1 passed.
