Context and objectives

SEVJ must secure the electricity supply for its customers. Its distribution equipment has a service life of more than 40 years and carries significant costs. The company needs to verify the consistency between future investment and energy demand.

The assignment aims to:

  • Prioritise assets according to their condition and importance
  • Model the medium- and low-voltage electricity network via the GIS
  • Assess energy demand to 2035
  • Define a target network that meets requirements
  • Calculate the investment required
  • Establish sustainable asset management

Approach and results

The approach analyses regional energy demand through to 2035, taking account of territorial diversity (residential, industrial, commercial). This produces a database of load profiles simulating various scenarios towards zero carbon, in line with the federal Energy Strategy 2050.
Results are first calibrated on a test area before full deployment.
